Venue:  Teluk Bahang Dam, Penang

Penang, the Pearl of the Orient, was honored to win the bid for hosting the  CCWC 2008 event – the biggest dragon boat event ever held in South East Asia.

As a premium brand with a global outlook, Pacific West is proud to be one of the corporate sponsors as well as the appointed official food supplier throughout the 4-day event.

In conjunction with this grand event, we had also organized a charity sale of Pacific West seafood to raise fund in aid of the victims who suffered in the recent calamities in China & Myanmar.  Over the 4 days, we collected a total sum of RMxxxx/-.  PW made up the number to RM5,000/-  and channelled this money to Tzu Chi International Relief Fund for the abovementioned worthy cause.

There were over 4,000 international rowers from more than 20 countries contesting for the 50 competition classes whereby the Canadian crews had dominated the Club Crew Medals table while the Indonesia team  won the Asian Championships in which they also took the Best Nations Trophy.   Overall, the event had successfully attracted thousands of foreign and domestic visitors to witness and be thrilled by this spectacular event.
