Pacific West @ IFOODEX

Pacific West once again successfully participated at Malaysia’s largest consumer food expo – iFOODex – which ran from 27 to 29 June 2008 at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA).

The Pacific West booth which took up a whopping size of 18 square meter was definitely the star of the show and attracted considerable interest from the crowd (estimated at over 60,000 local and international visitors). New products which attracted particular interest included our MSC-accredited Deep Sea Frosty Fish Fillets and Tempura Hake, which were both launched earlier in the year.

Visitors to the Pacific West booth were treated to an array of delicious cuisine as well as fantastic discounts on PW products. The PW team were also on hand to give out goodie bags and PW merchandise to lucky passers-by!

This premier food expo was jointly endorsed by the Penang State Government, Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Penang, Chefs Association of Malaysia (Penang Chapter), Ministry of Enterpreneur and Cooperative Development (MECD), Federal Agriculture and Marketing Authority (FAMA), MUDA Agricultural Development Authority (MADA).

Pacific West Cook-Off!
Twenty contestants took to the stage to battle it out at Pacific West’s Cooking Competition held on 28 June 2008. The budding chefs had 30 minutes to produce a unique and delicious dish based around Pacific West’s Deep Sea Frosty Fish Fillets.

Cooking solo, without any help from assistants or the audience, the contestants cooked up a storm with the gas stoves, utensils and ingredients provided by Pacific West. The bulk of the judges’ marks were allotted for taste, with food presentation and recipe uniqueness also being taken into consideration.
