iFOODex, a convergence of food, fun & frolic will return again as Malaysia’s Largest Consumer Food Exhibition which brings lots of excitement to visitors, besides offering the latest update for food & beverage industry. Organized since 1999, iFOODex has consistently grown its exhibitors and visitors, surpassing the 60,000 mark in 2007. The event schedule to start from Jun 27 – 29 will attract an influx of locals as well as international visitors, looking for a chance to sample the very Malaysian cuisine and to pick up food items at special reduced prices.
Pacific West, the renowned value-added seafood brand which is synonymous to lifestyle food of today’s working class will be showcasing its latest product (Deep Sea Frosty Fish Fillets) during this grand event. Pacific West takes pride to be the first company in South East Asia that launches a MSC labeled product which promotes sustainability of marine resources for the future.
MSC (Marine Stewardship Council), is a non profit organization that guarantees traceability of sustainable seafood. MSC issues certification to responsible fisheries which comply with the fishery management and practices set-forth by its organization. Besides, MSC also uses a blue MSC-label to identify environmentally responsible companies that support this meaningful initiative. Consumers who are concerned about the future health and productivity of the marine environment will be able to make the best environmental choice for a sustainable seafood supply.
The new MSC labeled product is processed from raw frozen Alaska Pollock which is caught from the unpolluted deep sea cold water at North Pacific Ocean. Prepared in an innovative crunchy coating which captures the style of the traditional western recipe, the `Deep Sea Frosty Fish Fillets’ taste differently from other tempura range, whereby its coating has a frosty look with a more solid crunch to it. It is ideal for consumer who likes a different biting experience, yet is still able to enjoy the succulent and firm mouth-feel of the natural fish meat.
In conjunction with the launching of the MSClabeled product, Pacific West will promote the sale of various souvenir merchandise which include t-shirts and cotton bag via its website and during the iFOODex event. 70% of the sales proceeds will be channeled to MSC to aid its operational fund.
Other than showcasing its first MSC labeled product, Pacific West will also host a series of exciting, fun & frolic programs during the 3-day event. Amongst the programs are cooking demo, quiz session & cooking competition themed `A Creation in harmony with nature’. Contestants are expected to create their original specialties by using Pacific West’s Deep Sea Frosty Fish Fillets as the main ingredient. The said competition is opened to all Malaysians, limit to 20 contestants on a first come first serve basis. Attractive cash prizes and Pacific West premiums are to be won.
